There is some new, but very old activity happening at Manotick Station these days.

People driving by will notice several fields under cultivation and more cattle in the area. Things that used to be very common not that many years ago!

Several local farmers are working the land to produce fresh, organic vegetables and beef for local consumers. Mandala Farm and Roots and Shoots Farm (www.RootsAndShootsFarm.com) are growing a wide range of vegetables and herbs. Grazing Days Farms is an organic Beef operation that will be providing grass fed Angus Beef this fall for Ottawa families (www.grazingdays.com).

All three operations will be providing their food on a Community Supported Agriculture model; the farmer produce food for selected customers, who commit to receiving a regular supply of fresh, local and very tasty meat and vegetables. And they can also provide recipes for those who want!

Manotick Station will be a very busy spot this summer as the fields are worked and the Barn is prepared for the fall Third World Bazaar sales.
